I love to read and usually read everyday but I have run into the problem of carrying books while traveling, the Amazon Kindle has solved that problem. Depending on the book, I can read it in a few days to a week but it is impossible to carry multiple books in my backpack while traveling. I usually end up picking one book and finishing it rather quickly and then lug it around with me the rest of the trip (I can’t get rid of books). So then I am stuck either re-reading the book or not reading anything.
I was given an Amazon Kindle 3 (now being sold as the Amazon Kindle Keyboard 3G) as a gift and it has solved my book-loving and traveling problems! I have had my Amazon Kindle for about 8 months now and I have no complaints and couldn’t be happier with it! The E Ink screen is amazing, it looks exactly like a page out of a book. I don’t want to strain my eyes looking at a screen that looks like a computer screen.
I also love how thin and lightweight it is. Perfect for taking with me wherever I go, whether it is just to work or on a long backpacking trip. I can load it up with as many books as I want and never have to carry around multiple books or re-read the same back twice.
Plus it is great for Lonely Planet guide books! We usually always travel with a guide book but they are so big and heavy that it really adds weight to our bag. With the Amazon Kindle, I can load it right onto my Amazon Kindle without the added weight!
The battery life on the Amazon Kindle is great too. I can go about a month without charging it, reading everyday for about an hour or more. Another feature that I really like is the built-in dictionary. You can scroll to a word and it will give you a definition. So convenient!
Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with my Amazon Kindle. I love being able to take it everywhere with me because of how lite weight it is. I love being able to have so many different books with me without the added weight. It is also very convenient that I can download any book I want from Amazon from anywhere in the world. I don’t know how I traveled without my Amazon Kindle before.
