Jeonju International Film Festival

A coworker brought us the catalog for the Jeonju International Film Festival which we had never heard of before. We decided to head to Jeonju to check out the city and take in a few movies at the Jeonju International Film Festival while we were there. The Jeonju International Film Festival was much better than [...]

Sunrise at Mount Bromo

Mount Bromo

Mount Bromo is an active volcano on the island of Java in Indonesia. We headed for Mount Bromo on our way back towards Jakarta the last week of our winter vacation. When boats finally started running again from the Gili Islands, we made nearly a 24 hour journey from the Gili Islands across Bali and onto [...]

Abandoned Gili Meno

Gili Meno is the second of the three Gili Islands off the coast of Lombok, Indonesia. It is the smallest of the three islands with no cars, motorcycles, only a sandy path all the way around the island. The island is so small it only takes about 45 minutes to an hour to walk around [...]

Packing for a Trip

We leave tomorrow morning for Indonesia and I thought some of you might be interested in what and how I pack for a trip. We will be backpacking through Indonesia for three weeks, one of shorter backpacking trips, but I pack the same as if I was going for five weeks, six months, or a [...]

Tokyo DisneySea

To keep up with our tradition of going to Disney on Christmas (Disney Paris ’07) we decided to go to Tokyo over the Christmas holiday so we could go to Disney on Christmas Day. We actually discovered that there are two parks: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. We did a little research on the two [...]

Yoshinoya menu

Eat Yoshinoya Everyday!

Eat at Yoshinoya everyday! And this is exactly what we did! We heard about a chain of Japanese restaurants called Yoshinoya that were cheap and had good food. Yoshinoya is kind of like a Japanese version of fast food. It was so good we literally ate at Yoshinoya everyday while we were in Tokyo. We [...]
