A Christmas Tradition

I have always loved going to theme parks, ever since I was little and my parents took me to Disneyland in California and Knotts Berry Farm (my favorite, I loved Snoopy)! When I got a little older and visited the Bay Area frequently I had a season pass to Great America which I loved being able to go whenever I wanted. After moving to Washington, I visited Silverwood Theme Park not far from where I lived. It was a lot smaller than the amusement parks that I was used to visiting in California but it still made me happy! I love, love, love amusement parks. The next amusement park that I want to visit in the US is Disney World and Universal. But mostly Universal because The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!! Hogwarts, Hogsmeade! So my next mission is to find cheap Orlando theme park tickets and buy Butterbeer in Hogsmeade!

With my love for amusement parks, Joe and I quickly created a new tradition to spend Christmas, when we are away from home, at Disneyland! Our first Disneyland Christmas was 7 years ago in 2007! Wow, it doesn’t seem that long ago. It was basically our first time traveling, Joe was doing a study abroad program in England and I went to visit him for about 2 months over the Christmas holidays. We planned our trip to Paris to coincide with Christmas day so we could spend the day at Disneyland Paris. We thought it would be a great way to spend the day since we had to spend it away from our families and it was! We had a great day, getting up and being there when it opened. Enjoying all of the yummy Disney treats and riding all of the rides that we remembered as kids. We stayed until the park closed and even a bit longer! It was definitely a great Christmas and started our Disney Christmas away from home tradition.

The next time we were away from home for Christmas was in 2011 when we were living in South Korea. We, unfortunately, couldn’t make it all the way home for Christmas so decided to go to Tokyo for a few days and go to Disney on Christmas day. Tokyo was amazing but very expensive and Disneyland Tokyo might be the best Disney I have ever been too. It had so much detail, it was amazing. Even the metro to Disney was decorated! It was a really amazing Disney and a great Christmas. Plus they have tons of different flavors of popcorn, it was fun seeing all of the different flavors. I can’t wait to go back!
