Eat at Yoshinoya everyday! And this is exactly what we did! We heard about a chain of Japanese restaurants called Yoshinoya that were cheap and had good food. Yoshinoya is kind of like a Japanese version of fast food. It was so good we literally ate at Yoshinoya everyday while we were in Tokyo.
We never knew exactly what we were ordering, just pointed to a new item on the menu every visit to try something new. We know we had lot’s of curry and some sort of pork teriyaki rice bowl thing. Some of the dishes we tried seemed to be a combination of a teriyaki bowl, curry, and whatever meat they served all mixed together and it was all amazing, we never had anything that we didn’t like.
First you had to wait for a seat at the counter because it was usually busy. Once you were seated they gave you some green tea and waited to take your order. You’re meant to get in and get out I think, since it’s sort of like Japanese fast food, so giving you time to look at your menu never really happened. Once you ordered, your food was served in a less than a couple minutes.
If you go to Japan make sure to eat at Yoshinoya…….everyday!
